Professor Ben Miranda, Consultant Plastic Surgeon & Hand Surgeon, has over 15 years of Plastic Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery and Hand Surgery experience. He has an extremely busy Medicolegal Expert Witness practice, and Consultant NHS practice at the internationally renowned St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery & Burns, one of the largest specialist Plastic Surgery Centres in Europe. The goal of Professor Ben Miranda's practice, based in London, Chelmsford and Southend, is to provide you with the highest quality of patient care, by carefully listening to your individual needs and requirements. Professor Ben Miranda is listed on the GMC Plastic Surgery Specialist Register, with a full licence to practice. He is also a fully certified Cosmetic Surgeon, accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons. He completed medical school at University College London and ranked 1st place in the national recruitment process, subsequently being awarded a Plastic Surgery training programme in London. Professor Ben Miranda has completed 2 prestigious Hand Surgery fellowships (Pulvertaft Hand Centre, Chelsea & Westminster Hand Unit) and 2 Aesthetic fellowships at leading international Cosmetic Surgery institutions (Wellington Hospital, London Clinic, King Edward VII).  

Leading Medicolegal Expert Witness

Professor Ben Miranda is a Fellow of the Faculty of Expert Witnesses (FFEW) and has a busy specialist medicolegal expert witness practice. His interest in medicolegal cases developed after he first represented a large body of doctors in Court, from a central London NHS Foundation Trust, in 2005. He has formal medicolegal expert witness training (Bond Solon), experience as a medicolegal expert witness working for both claimants and defendant NHS Trusts, compiling detailed court-compliant medical reports for breach of duty, causation, condition and prognosis, pharmaceutical / life science industry product development reports, working for private insurance companies and solicitors. 

Knowledgeable Evidence Based Practice

Professor Ben Miranda is the St Andrew's Anglia Ruskin (StAAR) Research Group Lead at the School of Medicine. He has completed a PhD and has a strong academic interest with over 120 peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international level, 2 best-selling surgical textbooks and over 20 academic prize awards and distinctions. Professor Ben Miranda is therefore in a position to be able to evaluate the highest quality of medical evidence and advances in treatment, and offer the best possible plastic surgery and hand surgery care that is tailored to the unique requirements of every patient that he treats.
