Professor Ben Miranda usually performs labiaplasty surgery or designer vagina surgery in London Harley Street & Essex (Chelmsford & Southend), under local anaesthetic; the reasons for this are that labiaplasty surgery is very well tolerated by patients under local anaesthetic, the anaesthetic risks are reduced compared to general anaesthetic, and the recovery time is quicker. If of course you are uncomfortable with the idea of local anaesthetic alone, then sedation or general anaesthetic can be arranged. There are a number of techniques available for labiaplasty, including the ’labial trim’ method and ‘wedge excision’. While most patients request the labial trim method, Professor Miranda will discuss your goals in relation to these techniques and what they can achieve, so that you can choose the best option for you. 

Patients usually recover quickly following labiaplasty surgery or designer vagina surgery. Some swelling and soreness is expected, particularly within the first 48 hours, such that sitting or peeing may be uncomfortable. Showering is fine after 48 hours, but you should not soak in a bath until the wounds have fully healed, usually at 2 weeks.  Blood spotting may occur that can last for around 1 week (but reduces over this time). You should initially wear loose underwear and clothes to prevent rubbing and avoid sex for about 6 weeks.
