Professor Ben Miranda has a busy medicolegal expert witness plastic surgery specialist practice in London Harley Street & Essex (Chelmsford & Southend) and he is a Fellow of the Faculty of Expert Witnesses (FFEW). Clinical plastic surgery traditionally involves managing conditions that affect the soft tissues, such as after trauma, skin cancer, breast cancer or even for cosmetic reasons. Due to the high level of skill involved and delicate nature of tissue handling, some plastic surgeons undertake further training to be able to manage hand injuries and conditions of the hands, widely considered to be among the most technically challenging of surgical cases. Over the years, plastic surgery has evolved greatly as a specialty, in particular with performing complex reconstruction and microsurgery. Professor Ben Miranda has experience in all of the aforementioned areas and this is reflected in his medicolegal expert plastic surgery practice in London & Essex. 

Professor Miranda first became interested in plastic surgery medicolegal expert witness practice after representing a large body of doctors in Court, from a central London NHS Foundation Trust, in 2005. He has formal medicolegal expert witness plastic surgery training (Bond Solon), experience as a medicolegal expert witness plastic surgeon working for both claimants and defendant NHS Trusts, compiling detailed court-compliant plastic surgery medical expert witness reports for breach of duty, causation, condition and prognosis, working for private insurance companies and solicitors. Professor Miranda is fully registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.

Professor Ben Miranda is dual qualified as both a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Ortho-Plastic Hand Surgeon, and is further trained as a Cosmetic Surgeon. He is therefore able to undertake plastic surgery medicolegal expert witness instructions and also instructions in relation to cosmetic surgery and hand surgery.
